The disappearance of the 40-year-old nurse has now been taken over by Serious Crime Investigators from the DCI. Police have obtained CCTV footage of the day Gathumbi is said to have gone missing. Police says Gathumbi (pictured) was captured on camera as she was picked by a boda boda rider outside their home at 6.38am. She was dressed in a black coat, a multi-coloured dress and a pair of black sandals. She also had a black handbag.
Mlolongo DCI officers have also recorded statements from the house help. More information is that Gathumbi was heading to a salon in town for an appointment with her hairdresser at 9am but never showed up. Data analysis shows at the time she left her house, her mobile phone was switched off and has remained off for the last eight days.
