Lady Gaga is leading the 2020 MTV EMA nominations with a whopping seven nods. The Poker Face hitmaker, 34, is up for top categories such as Best Artist, Best Pop, and Best Video for her Rain On Me duet with Ariana Grande. The track also secured a position in the Best Song and Best Collaboration categories. Her impressive list is followed closely by BTS as well as Justin Bieber, who each received five nods.
The artists are nominated for Biggest Fans and Best Pop categories. Marking the 27th edition of one of the biggest nights in global music, the 2020 MTV EMAs will unite fans at home. Though this year's performers and presenters have not been announced yet, MTV promises the biggest names in music to take to the stage. The two-hour 2020 MTV EMAs will air globally on MTV in 180 countries and territories on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
Back in August, Gaga scooped artist of the year and the first-ever MTV Tricon Award. She ended up scooping a total of five awards that night, and in true Gaga fashion, she donned five different outfits to collect each award. She and Ariana stole the show at the MTV Video Music Awards as they masked up for a futuristic performance of their award-winning song Rain On Me. Gaga was delighting fans with a glorious medley of her tunes when she was joined by 27-year-old Ariana for a supercharged first live performance of their collaboration.
It was the first time Rain On Me had been performed live on TV. Rain On Me was nominated for seven awards and won three - song of the year, best collaboration and best cinematography.
