He also found a gold pen, a typewriter, satellite phones, a camera and an undeveloped roll of film. It is not the first time Nicolas says he has found money in unusual places, as his uncle had to stash it. But he said many of the notes had begun to decay and were not usable. Nicolas’s father Roberto, Escobar’s brother and accountant, once said: “We would spend as much as £2,000 a month on rubber bands just to hold the money together.”
