Drake fans delighted as he shares rare photo of son Adonis on first day of school

Drake has delighted his fans by sharing a rare snap of his son Adonis on his first day of school. The 33-year-old rapper took to Instagram to post the picture of his only child posed up in a black tracksuit and matching trainers with his long blond locks in braids.

"First Day Of School...The World Is Yours kid," wrote the proud dad in the caption, who has only posted about his now two-year-old son on one other occasion. Adonis, whose mother is former adult movie star Sophie Brussaux, looked ready to head to class in style as he stood in front of a blacked-out van. Drake's fans immediately shared their appreciation for the sweet photo in the comments with some of the Marvin's Room rapper's celebrity pals also popping up.

"Young hot Steppah!" shared British grime star Skepta. "Family first," wrote Sean Combs, better known as P Diddy. "Already got a chauffeur," noted fellow rapper 21 Savage. While pop star Justin Bieber responded with four flame emojis. Adonis' mum Sophie also responded in the comments writing "Mon bébé" with three supportive love hearts.

It's been a rocky few years for Sophie and Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham after the rapper publicly denied fathering their son. Drake later admitted he'd denied his involvement as he felt 'ashamed' to have welcomed a baby with a former porn star he'd only met twice before the birth. Before going public with news that he'd become a dad, Drake was called out by fellow rapper Pusha T - who accused the star of hiding his secret son because of Sophie's previous job. In 2018 track The Story of Adidon, Pusha T told drake to "forget she's a porn star" and embrace his little boy.

He rapped: "You are hiding a child, let that boy come home. Deadbeat m*********, playin' border patrol, ooh. Adonis is your son. And he deserves more than an Adidas press run, that's real. Love that baby, respect that girl. Forget she's a porn star, let her be your world, yuugh!”

After the track was released and social media was awash with the rumours, representatives for Drake denied the claims and branded Sophie a liar because of her former career. A spokesperson for Drake told TMZ.com: "This woman has a very questionable background. She has admitted to having multiple relationships. We understand she may have problems getting into the United States. She's one of many women claiming he got them pregnant. If it is, in fact, Drake's child, which he does not believe, he would do the right thing by the child."

Months later Drake spoke out himself in the song Emotionless where he admitted he had fathered a child with Sophie.

He rapped: "I wasn't hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid. Breakin' news in my life I don't run to the blogs/ The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call. I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe. That s*** is in stone, sealed and signed. She's not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine. S***, we only met two times."

Drake later admitted he waited to go public with the truth about his son because he was waiting on the results of a DNA test.

“To be honest with you, I did a DNA test for my son and it came back to us and it said the DNA test got ruined in transit and they couldn’t be 100 percent sure that that was my son or not. So, I was in a really weird pending situation where I didn’t want to go tell the world that that was my son and it wasn’t," he told Rap Radar.

In March this year, Drake shared the first photos of Adonis to social media as he pined for him during lockdown. He shared a powerful message about togetherness and said that he missed his 'beautiful family', posting alongside it unseen snaps of special occasions with Adonis and Sophie.
