Any Kenyan who wants to visit the Huduma center starting Monday, August 17, will now be required to book an appointment. Through a statement, the Ministry of Public service and gender stated that the move is aimed at minimizing time spent while queuing for services.
Also, the Huduma Kenya said they would roll out a system to help with minimising traffic. “In order to minimize the traffic as well as time spent queuing for services, Huduma Kenya is rolling out a service by appoint system. We will be rolling out the system gradually commencing with Huduma Centre GPO.”
“Starting Monday August 17, 2020, you will be required to book an appointment before visiting Huduma Centre GPO Nairobi,” read part of the statement.
Kenyans looking to book appointments were advised to visit the www.hudumakenya.go.ke, select book appointment, and follow the steps on how to book an appointment for the services they require.
How to book for an appointment to visit Huduma Kenya
Visit www.hudumakenya.go.ke then click book appointment Click on the register button on the menu and fill in the details. Go to the log-in page and key in the details you will receive via SMS then proceed to book your appointment. Visit Huduma center GPO on the specific day, and the specific time you have booked your appointment.ALSO READ: What is Huduma Namba?
However, Huduma Kenya noted that Kenyans, who will seek services from the other four Huduma centers in Nairobi, would not need to book an appointment. The same case also applies to the other 51 Huduma centers in the country.
Last month, Huduma Kenya temporarily shut down some branches to allow fumigation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Taking into account the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Nairobi in the past week and the high number of customer traffic we are experiencing, we will be temporarily closing Nairobi Huduma centres for fumigation,” said Huduma Kenya.
