Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard was seen with bruises while her husband was abroad - in sensational claims which lawyers say are set to clear his name.

Witness Trinity Esparaza says she saw hand marks on Heard’s neck two weeks after Depp, 57, allegedly hurled a phone at her.

In a signed deposition, the witness says she saw a mark on Heard’s left cheek - the opposite cheek Heard said Depp had injured.

Esparaza is the head concierge of the Eastern Columbia building in LA, where Depp owned five suites. She describes two finger marks on Heard’s neck and a bruise to her cheek.

Esparaza says: “She dropped her keys down the elevator chute. She had bruises on her neck and a Band-Aid.”

Asked if Depp was in the country, Esperaza tells the actor’s lawyers: “No.”

Depp’s team say they have a series of claims that will clear their man’s reputation.

Lawyer Adam Waldman said: “It turns out, Amber Heard actually was damaged in June 2016, with finger-shaped marks on her throat, bandaged arm and a bruised left eye. The one person we know did not do it is Johnny Depp, who had been on tour and out of the country for [two] weeks.”

The deposition has been approved for use in a $50million defamation case against actress Heard after she alleged she was a domestic abuse victim.

It will also be used as hearsay evidence in Depp’s libel suit against News UK after The Sun branded him a “wife-beater”.

Depp is alleged to have hurled a phone at Heard on May 21, 2016.

She showed court photos of bruises. Depp sued after Heard wrote a piece in the Washington Post portraying herself as a survivor of domestic violence.

It did not name Depp but he claims speculation later cost him his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Depp arrives in London today and will quarantine for 14 days before the High Court case against News UK. It is defending the case, stands by Heard’s claims - and she will testify.

Heard, 34, could not be reached for comment.
