Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua has asked for forgiveness from Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) worshipers after referring to their denomination as a cult.
According to the young journalist, his intentions were to expose one of SDAs founders, Ellen White, as a “philosophical fraud”. In a Facebook post, Kimani said that he has deleted all photos containing his sentiments about the sensitive topic.
According to him, his anger was misplaced and for that he was regrettably sorry.
"Apologies to any SDAs who were offended by my use of the ‘f' word against Ellen G White and all the strong language I used earlier, I have deleted those posts from my personal page. My anger was only directed to her and not you guys.”
The 24-year-old journalist further revealed that he will officially withdraw his registration as a member of the church.

“I will formally write to the church to officially remove my name from their register, I renounce the SDA faith and I no longer wish to be associated with Seventh Day Adventism," he wrote.
Just over a day a go, Kimani sparked controversy after branding the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church as a cult.
In a scathing Facebook video filmed in a car, he denounced the church that he claimed to have been a member of for over 20 years and rubbished one of its founders, Ellen White, as a “Philosophical Fraud”.
“I was born and raised SDA and now I know that SDA is not a church, [it] is a cult. Hear me out as someone born and raised that way, this is the only thing I have known for about twenty years of my life,” said Kimani.
He further explained that he was not making the wild statements out of ignorance but was willing to engage constructively on the issue.
“There was a path for me and I followed it diligently. And I am not saying these things from a point of ignorance, I have read every book and I am willing to sit down with anyone with an open mind,” he added.
He reiterated his stance on why he had made the bold move including his alleged ordination at the age of 16.

“A lot of people who went to [school] with me knew me as that guy they did not want to hang around because I was so anti-everything. I was anti- hugging, anti-sex, I even found it hard to imagine that I would have a wife one day and have sex with her,” he went on.
Kimani is set to wed his fiancé identified as Michelle after he proposed to her at her workplace.

"I really did find someone who was crazy enough to want to spend their life with me and that, friends, is courageous and that's what love is; a bold statement to self and to someone else that you'll always have their back no matter what," he wrote on his Instagram page.
Kimani further disclosed that he and his girlfriend were looking forward to having a wedding before the end of the year.
