The burial plans for deceased gospel artist Dennis Mwangi alias Papa Dennis have been finalised.
Speaking to SDE, a few members of the burial committee privy to the funeral arrangements said that the singer will be interred at his native home in Matunda along the Eldoret-Kitale highway on February 19.

Prior to the burial, a mass for the ‘Nashukuru’ singer will be held on February 10 at 2 pm in Nairobi Chapel along Ngong Road, where he was a member of the congregation. His body will the next day be transported to Uasin Gishu County for burial.
Post-mortem
A post-mortem conducted on the singer’s body on Monday could not ascertain whether his death was a suicide or homicide.
The results indicated that he had fallen from an elevated area, sustaining both internal and external injuries. This puts into doubt the preliminary police report that earlier indicated suicide as the artist’s cause of death.
Contributions
A paybill towards contributions for the burial expenses has been released and contributions from the music fraternity have already started pouring in.

“There’s a personal number where players in the music industry are sending their contributions to. Members of the public will be able to chip in too but through the paybill number.”
Papa Dennis, an orphan is said to have passed away amidst financial difficulties with sources telling SDE that his siblings are not able enough to shoulder the burial cost. A year ago, the singer lost his younger sister Monica Shiko who had been hospitalised for a short while.

“Monica Shiko, we loved you so much my dear sister, as our last born, the childhood memories will forever live in my mind. Gone so soon. RIP siz,” the award-winning artist wrote at the time.
