Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and wife Primrose Mbuvi are talk on social media over their public display of affection on January 1.
Celebrating his wife’s birthday on the same date 2020 kicked in, Governor Sonko went all out and threw a lavish party in Kikambala, Kilifi County that was attended by close family members and friends.
The highlight of the night was when Governor Sonko kissed his wife to the adoration of those present and excitement by his followers when he shared the photo on his social media pages.
In a series of posts on Primrose’s Instagram page, the couple is seen cutting a cake together before locking lips in a wow moment that was snapped in colour.
Primrose’s page was immediately flooded with numerous congratulatory and goodwill birthday messages with many commenting on their PDA.
Amongst the people flocked to her page included @liver_ngetich who wrote, “Happy birthday madam, though tungefanya joint celebration”.
One @friespete said: “Happy Birthday. May the Lord's spirit keep guiding you and your family”.
While @munira327 added: “Mashallah beautiful”.

Not one to shy off from showering his wife with affection, the embattled city boss spares no cost and goes all out to spoil the First Lady.
Sometime last year, he made a trip to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and gifted her a Versace chain worth 4.3 million.
In the viral video, Sonko is seen walking into a jewellery shop and asking for a bespoke gold chain emblazoned with diamonds.
"I want bigger chains with Diamonds, am sending the pictures to my wife to choose, am a fan of gold and Versace," he said.
The store attendant then breaks down the price for the governor who is unfazed by the amount.
“The pendant is 98, 200 Dirham and the chain 56, 000. The total would be 154, 200 Dirham,” said the store attendant. 154, 200 UAE Dirham equals Sh4.3 million in current rates.
He then pulled out crisp dollar bills and paid in cash while the storekeepers watched in amusement.
How did he become so rich? One would wonder.
“I saved the little money I was getting. I have not killed anyone, I do not sell drugs.At some point, I came to Nairobi and I invested where my father was. I own properties all the way from Lamu to Vanga.
I have got over 1000 title deeds of properties which I own. I have over 150 logbooks of cars which I own. “I am not rich, I am not poor but I am somehow wealthy and I thank God. I have been sharing whatever little I have with the people,” Sonko told NTV’s Ken Mijungu.
