A son to former Vice President, the late Michael Kijana Wamalwa, is dead.
Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa, yesterday confirmed that his nephew, William Makali Wamalwa, died on Sunday evening at Crystal Hospital in Kitale,Trans Nzoia County.
William, 33, was the third born child in the family and was a second-year student at the University of Nairobi where he was pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Eugene said William collapsed at his Kitale home in Milimani Estate before he was rushed to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
"He collapsed at around 5.30pm and was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead,’’ Eugene told The Standard at the former VP’s home in Milimani Estate.

The CS described the death as a big loss to the family.
"It is a shock to the family. We spoke on Saturday. He was in a good health,’’ he said.
Woman Rep Janet Nangabo and Trans Nzoia County Assembly speaker Joshua Werunga led local leaders in condoling the Wamalwa family.
"It is a sad moment for the family to lose a youthful person like William Snr," said Nangabo.
According to family sources, William will be buried at the family’s farm in Saboti on Dec 14, 2019.
