Gospel singer Ruth Matete is a week old in her marriage after saying ‘I do’ to Nigerian gospel music minister John Apewajoye alias Beloved John on November 22.
Responding to claims that Beloved was still legally married to his ex-wife Juliet Aihinomo Idehen, Matete rubbished the reports as baseless propaganda.
Speaking to Word Is, Matete demanded proof from her critics that her husband was still legally married to Idehen.
“Tell her to provide proof they are still married. I am aware that John is her ex-husband but they are not married anymore. I know the children because they are my husband’s kids,” the Tusker Project Fame season 5 winner said.

Beloved in a message shared on Wednesday, November 27, echoed Matete’s call and vowed to soldier on with her.
“I, first of all, want to thank everyone who stood and still standing by me and my wife,” the contemporary gospel music minister and worship leader wrote down.
“I also want to thank everyone who is busy seeking to destroy,” he continued. “In everything we give Thanks to God. We made a vow to God and regardless of what comes our way we will keep this vow.”
He went on to ask for privacy.
“I and my wife are doing good and want to be allowed to enjoy our lives and the Ministry. We love you all. Thank you, everyone, for your love, prayers, encouragement and support. God bless you greatly.”

Away from the drama, Beloved declared that he is sorted for life having married the Damu Yako hitmaker.
“My wife Ruth is a chef,” he delightedly captioned a video he shared on Friday. The short video shows Ruth Matete rocking white jeans, a black blouse and a cap in the kitchen preparing cupcakes, toast and eggs while dancing and goofing around.
Coming in from behind her and upon having a bite of what she was cooking, remarked, “The way I love food eish, I am sorted for life.”
