RnB songstress Tinashe has signed to Roc Nation. This was the culmination of weeks of relentless reports that she had signed on to the Jay Z-owned label, which she neither outrightly confirmed nor denied.
The singer called it quits on her former label, RCA Records, citing displeasure to their controlling ways, which she says inhibited her creativity.
The label was not supportive of her RnB inclined sound, and would force her to go down the pop route, which prompted her exit.
She intimated that she would be going to work as a freelance going forward.
After a hiatus, the singer dropped a new project dubbed Songs For You, followed by the first single off the project.
A few days ago, the singer confirmed that she had indeed signed on to Roc Nation. Her next album is due so this could not have been any more timely.
