Prominent personalities often need security personnel when moving around, unless of course, you’re Khaligraph Jones.
Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz seems to take his security quite seriously after he was spotted walking around with over 10 bodyguards.
On 25 September, the Inama singer was filmed in the company of heavily built bodyguards branded with WCB insignia.
Their all-black look coupled with dark sunglasses and silver shin guards gave them a menacing look.
Diamond had visited Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam to ink a deal with a Chinese soap company.
I don’t need a bodyguard
Diamond’s style is a contrast to Bongo crooner Ali Kiba, who does not walk around with a bevvy of bodyguards.
Responding to a journalist’s question, Kiba said that “I don’t need bodyguards. If there is anyone with the intent to kill me they will do so even if I have bodyguards; they might kill one, two bodyguards, before finishing me off.”
“Not only do I not see the point of having a bodyguard but I also don’t like it.
“Also, my faith does not allow me to do such things though it’s the protocol for prominent personalities.
“I believe I’m protected by people but above all, I’m protected by God. Even the bodyguards are protected by God.”
