A woman in England on Tuesday stunned viewers after she married her dog in an event aired live on ITV’s daytime show, This Morning.
According to Fox News, Elizabeth Hoad, 49, married her golden retriever, Logan, after frustrations with finding 'Mr Right'.
Hoad- a former model- explained that she had been hurt and given up on men but found love and solace in her dog.
Following persuasions from her friends, she decided to 'formalise' her relationship with Logan.
"I've completely given up. Hand on heart, I've been on all those websites. It's not just me. I meet with ten other friends a week, we go on lots of trips with our dogs, and I'm not working at the moment, so my friends are like, 'Why don't you just marry him?'" said Hoad.
The dog, clad in a black waistcoat and matching tuxedo, ‘walked’ Hoad down the aisle to Paul Anka's Puppy Love in a ceremony officiated by former Big Brother contestant Alison Hammond.
The dog's best man was Kem Cetinay - a British television personality who starred in the TV station’s reality series Love Island.
The ‘For Better, For Woof’ marriage was, however, scorned at by some viewers who blasted the union as an affront to marriage. To others, the ceremony was a joke gone too far.
