A crew member working on the new James Bond movie was injured during the filming of a controlled explosion at Pinewood Studios outside London, producers have said.

A statement issued on Tuesday said the exterior of a stage had also been damaged in the blast.

“During the filming of a controlled explosion on the set of Bond 25 today at Pinewood Studios, damage was caused to the exterior of the 007 Stage,” the statement said, referring to the yet unnamed movie’s working title.

“There were no injuries on set, however one crew member outside the stage has sustained a minor injury.”

Last month producers said actor Daniel Craig, who plays the famous British fictional secret agent, had sustained a minor ankle injury during filming in Jamaica and would undergo surgery.

They added production would continue during Craig’s post-surgery rehabilitation and that the latest installment in the spy franchise remained on schedule for a cinema release in April 2020.

“Bond 25” will be the fifth time Craig portrays the suave 007 agent. Oscar winner Rami Malek will play the international villain in the movie, directed by American Cary Joji Fukunaga.
