Zodwa Wabantu’s fiancé Ntobeko Linda will adopt her surname after they tie the knot.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the controversial South African dancer revealed that she had already discussed the matter with her 24-year old fiancé.
“Definitely, yes,” she said, adding that “we have talked about it and we agree.”

Zodwa further urged people to stop telling them about tradition, pointing out that making decisions regarding their unorthodox relationship rests solely on them.
“But culture has nothing to do with us. We were not there when old people decided to do things their way. We will decide things for ourselves.

“We are different and we want to do things differently. Some people may not like the way we do things but we don’t care.
“I love my fans but this is a personal issue,” said the 33-year-old.

Proposed to fiancé
Zodwa’s declaration comes weeks after she proposed to Ntobeko with a Sh420,000 bespoke diamond ring, a move termed as ‘Un-African’ by a section of social media users.
“We as women we give our men money to marry us. Hard working women hide that they marry themselves by giving their boyfriends money to go to their families to pay Lobola (dowry),” she stated afterwards.

Loggerheads with mother-in-law
Three days ago, Zodwa and Ntobeko laid to rest rumours that his mother did not approve of their union. The couple shared a video of themselves alongside Ntobeko’s mother who put her stamp of approval on their relationship.
"I know it's been said that I actually don't know how to speak for myself and I'm mute or what not, but here I am going to speak because I am actually standing with my two queens; my mother and my queen. The mother and the bride," Ntobeko said in the video.

"Yeah, so please stop saying nasty things about us like 'I'm Ntobeko's mother' or that 'We don't know each other'. Don't come at me," Zodwa said, to which Ntobeko's mother added, "We are together." Zodwa and Ntobeko have been together for more than four years.
