
The Kenya rugby fraternity is in mourning following the death of yet another player.
This is after Impala Saracens’ Richard Sidindi Akoth passed away on 25 February following a drowning accident.
Popularly known as Real Jhadah Power, the former Kisumu RFC player was pronounced dead at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital while receiving treatment following the incident at Impala’s pool.
“It appears that there was some swimming pool incident where Sidindi was alone but we are still gathering information on what really happened,” Impala Saracens Director of Rugby, Fred Ollows, told reporters.
Described as a good swimmer, investigations underway to determine the cause of the 24-year-old death.

Before his death, the Maseno University alumni worked as an Information Technology specialist.
The rugby family is at a great loss considering it has lost a number of players over a short period of time.
In December 2016, Ogeto Gecheo of Nondescripts RFC centre passed on after succumbing to injuries sustained while tackling an opponent during a match.
A week on, Mwamba RFC player Victor Wayodi, passed away after collapsing during a match at the Impala Sports Club grounds.
Roughly a year later, Homeboyz prop Andrew Wekesa was stabbed by thugs in Mlolongo.
Not long after, KCB centre James Kilonzo was shot in the chest by unknown people In July 2018.
