Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande accused Grammys producerof bullying

News
Nicki Minaj has claimed she was bullied by Grammys producers.

The bullying row that has cast a shadow over the 61st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles has been escalated by Nicki Minaj, who has also claimed that she was a victim.

Award-winning pop star Ariana Grande had previously revealed that she was shunning the ceremony and the chance to perform after interference from the event's producers and now Nicki has said that she was 'bullied' in a similar vein.

In a finger-pointing post on Twitter, the 36-year-old rapper accused Ken Ehrlich of 'bullying her into staying quiet' and that she he had 'lived in fear' for the past seven years over it.

Directing her ire at the Grammys producer, Nicki wrote: "I p***ed off the same man Ariana just called out for lying. Grammy producer KEN. I was bullied into staying quiet for 7 years out of fear. But I’ll tell my fans the REAL on the next episode of #QueenRadio they deserve the truth.”

Nicki has spoken out after one of her fans asked on Twitter why the rapper had never won a Grammy.

They wrote on Twitter: "Nicki Minaj has been at the top of her game for way too long to not have had a Grammy. I don’t know what white man from the boards she p***ed off.”

The vitriolic answer from Nicki soon showed at whose door she feels this lies.

Before the Grammys, there had been ructions over Ariana Grande's decision to pull out of attending and performing, with 'creative differences' being cited.

As the rumpus rumbled on, 25-year-old Ariana addressed the situation directly, with her reasons also putting Ehrlich in the frame.

The 'Thank U, Next' singer tweeted: "I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me. I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you that I decided not to attend. I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.”

Explaining further what had led Ariana to turn her back on the ceremony, she continued on Twitter, posting: “I offered 3 different songs. It’s about collaboration. It’s about feeling supported. It’s about art and honesty. Not politics. Not doing favors or playing games. It’s just a game y’all…And I’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.”

Nicki Minaj has also announced that she would be no longer performing at the BET Experience Concert, after a tweet that they had posted during the Grammys.

Nicki was due to co-headline with Cardi B but when she lost out to her fellow rapper, BET tweeted: “Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront."

In response, Minaj tweeted, “Young Money will no longer be a part of the BET Experience or award show. Summer Tour dates dropping soon.”

Reeling from this news, a spokesperson for BET released a lengthy statement, in which they apologised for their social media faux-pas.

The statement read: “BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward.

"Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.

“Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written.

"The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values.”

The statement continued: “We deeply apologise for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation.

"We are also conducting an internal audit to assure these types of posts are not published again. We have apologised to Nicki and her team.

"The post has been removed and we have taken additional appropriate action. We understand Nicki’s position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her.

"Finally, we apologise to all of her fans. This should have never happened."

As far as Nicki is concerned though, the damage has been done.
