The Kenyan gospel industry is on a transition, this is according to the 2018 Groove Male Artist of the Year, Guardian Angel.

Speaking to SDE, Guardian said that the tribulations and scandals facing the industry such as that of DK Kwenye Beat and Hopekid were part of a shakeup sweeping the gospel scene.

According to Guardian, the shakeup was for the greater good and that change was necessary in the industry in order for it to move forward.

“It’s a small shakeup. Shakeups are in every industry. Everything will be ok...It is for the greater good because at the end of change is necessary. When it occurs people get in line,” said Guardian.

He added that the main reason why most artists have not spoken out against the DK, Hopekid saga was out of fear.

“It is a sensitive topic to speak about, unless you are speaking about with a lot of wisdom, its not something you just jump on and speak about. If you are not sure, you are better off keeping quiet,” he added.

The Nadeka hitmaker added that a follow-up on his song with celebrated songstress Esther Wahome was on the way.

Guardian disclosed that he is working on a solo project set for release in a months’ time.
