The family of the late Ugandan songwriter and music maestro Mowzey Radio is barely making ends meet one year after the death of the singer in Entebbe.
Speaking to the Daily Monitor, Radio’s mother Ms. Jane Kasubo said that everything, from projects to school, has come to a standstill.
Kasubo added that Radio was the sole breadwinner of the family and following the death of her famous son on the 1st of February 2018 at the Case Medical Centre, Kampala, they are struggling and in need of help.
“This is not the only thing that has come to a standstill (a house Mowzey was building her) in this family following the death of my son. Many of the siblings and cousins that he was helping in school and university have since stopped studying and are now seated at home. We have no money and I don’t know how we are going to be helped out of this situation,” said Kasubo
Mowzey sustained head injuries during a bar brawl at De Bar club, Entebbe, and went into a coma for close to two weeks.
A bouncer, accused of inflicting the injuries, was found at a friend’s house in Kyengera where he had reportedly gone into hiding.
Troy Wamala confessed to the murder stating that it was an accident, “I didn’t intend to Kill Mowzey Radio. He just slid from my hands and unfortunately hit his head on the ground. Please kindly forgive me.’’
