A while back, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula hit the headlines for allegedly beating up his wife.
The politician’s wife Ann had accused him of beating her up, with Wetangula countering her accusations claiming that she is the one who had beaten him up.
Recently appearing on the Wicked Edition with Dr King’ori, the Opposition politician spoke on the incident for the first time.
“I have never spoken about it and I’m not going to talk about it. As an African man, family is sacred,” Wetangula responded to King’ori’s enquiries.
In 2016, Ann stated that her husband had beaten her on the night of February 18 and she sustained injuries on both hands, her chest and legs and that she was treated and discharged at the Karen Hospital.
On the same day, Mr Wetang’ula went to the station and accused his wife of assaulting him.
Wetang’ula had accused his wife of infidelity. That is when, according to him, his wife became furious and attacked him. As a result, he said, he sustained injuries on his head, left hand, left leg and chest. He was treated at Karen Hospital and issued with a P3 form.
Police could not take action after the coupled failed to return the police P3 forms which were integral to their assault complaints
