Shellsy Baronet

The 20-year-old Mozambican singer Shellsy Baronet famed for her hit single Ultima Mocha is one of the youngest stars to join Coke Studio Africa.

Her first stint with the show was in 2017, paired alongside Eddy Kenzo (Uganda) and Bisa Kidei (Ghana) as a Big Break act on a special segment on the show spotlighting rising stars.

This paved way for her success in her country; and in just months the music video of her song surpassed one million YouTube views.

She also won an award for Best Female Act and this trajectory prompted Coke Studio Africa to enlist her for the 2019 edition as a main act. On the show, she will be collaborating with Tanzanian R&B singer Jux.

Mahlet

Popular Ethiopian songstress Mahlet Gebregiorg (Mahi) known for her soulful voice merged in traditional Ethiopian influences, will be making her debut at Coke Studio Africa 2019 paired alongside Tanzania’s BET award-winner Rayvanny.

The duo’s music collabos will be produced by leading Tanzanian hit maker; Lizer. Mahlet’s hit singles including Haneta, Kunama and Hizimbele.

Africa should expect to discover more Ethiopian sounds, and varied languages including Tigrigna (the Afro-Asiatic language from the Horn of Africa) from Mahlet.

Sheebah

Coming from her successful first solo major concert dubbed Omwooyo - top Ugandan singer Sheebah Karungi with a number of hits, including Nkwatako and Mummy Yo, has been at the top of her game.

She came into the music industry with the renowned all-girl dance group Obsessions. Over the years, she has evolved to become of one Uganda’s most celebrated entertainers.

The singer and dancer has gone on to win several top awards including Female Artiste of the Year and Artiste of The Year at the Uganda Music Awards (2017).

Last year on Coke Studio Africa, she worked with Asegegnew Ashko (Ethiopia) Bill Nas (Tanzania) and Gemini Major (Malawi).

In 2019, she will make her second return to the show, produced by GospelOnDaBeatz (Nigeria) in music fusions alongside Harmonize (Tanzania).

Lioness

Namibian Rap Queen Lioness has been in the Namibian hip hop scene for three years, and in this time she has risen from being an underground rapper to one of the leading voices in her country.

With two EPs to her name ILL3 (2015) and ILL4 and the 2018 album Pride of CilQ, Lioness is set to impress Africa with her refreshing sound and fierce stage act.

On the new Coke Studio Africa, Lioness will be paired with Boity (South Africa) and legendary Kenyan rapper (Nazizi). The trio will fuse urban hip hop sounds with a twist of female power.

Keysha

Tanzanian songstress Keysha, best known for her hit collabo Nimechoka featuring East African Music King – Diamond Platnumz, will be making a comeback on the music scene after a brief hiatus on the upcoming new season of Coke Studio Africa.

She has always been an over achiever and dabbles up as a singer and politician. Her story of resilience and determination has led her to bring her powerful lyrics and songs on a Pan African platform. She makes history as the first artist living with albinism to be featured on the Pan-African music show.

For two years, she has been singing as one of the background singers on the show, and at the same time working on her solo career.

Since graduating from Sauti Academy, Kemunto’s career has been on an upward trajectory. On the new season the Afro-Urban soul driven musician will be getting a bigger spotlight.
