Media personality and entrepreneur Julie Gichuru has taken to social media to describe what can pass by as one of her darkest moments in the sky.
The former Citizen Tv presenter disclosed that she had a dangerous encounter when an airplane she was travelling from Nairobi to Kigali, Rwanda, aborted landing twice due to bad weather.
She said that she was not aware of the precarious nature of the flight until the plane touched down.
"As we tried to land in Kigali it was overcast and raining so we aborted landing twice, I had earphones on, listening to music- loud, as I often do. I had no idea that we had two dangerous encounters," Gichuru narrated.
Although they landed safely, the mother of five detailed the lessons she took home from that experience noting that had the plane crashed, she would have been oblivious till the last few seconds.
“I had earphones on, listening to music – loud, as I often do. I had no idea that we had two dangerous encounters. If we went down, I would have been oblivious till the last few seconds. Being present in the moment is an important thing… Or, is it?
"Others on the flight had been praying and doing all manner of things in alarm," she added noting that all along she had been totally clueless.
"Perspective is a fascinating thing. Unaware of the aborted landings I did notice we were off course. I was in great spirits while everyone else was panicking."
