A fourth year female student from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) perished in the fateful night of October 9th, 2018 at Fort Tenan in an accident which left 56 people dead.
She left Nairobi in a jovial mood as usual and informed her friends at school that she was coming to sit special exams and sought out some missing marks in preparation for her graduation.
“When she did not turn up for the examinations, I tried to reach out to her but her phone was off,” says her close friend Judy Ndegwa .
She added: “Later in the evening I saw a message of condolence posted by the university chaplain and I could not believe that she was dead.”
Prisca,22, an orphan who was raised by her grandmother and aunt, was two months away from graduation. She was heading to school to sit a special exam that was scheduled for October 11, 2018. Her aunt, Grace Nyagothie, confirmed that she has been staying with Prisca since she was in form two after she left her grandmother’s place in Murang’a.
