Bobi Wine's much-anticipated concert, the Kyarenga Concert, will go on as scheduled despite an earlier ban by the Ugandan police.
The Ugandan pop star turned politician had made an initial announcement online which was met by opposition from Ugandan police who said the venue of the concert had already been booked for other events, and they would not allow the show to take place.
However, in a social media post shared by one of the organizers, the Kyarenga Concert will go on as planned and that everything is set.
“Kyarenga Concert to happen on the 9th Nov 2018 at Mandela National Stadium Namboole. We reached the agreement with the stadium management yesterday and the only remaining part is the police to do its job of providing security. Tickets will go on sale next week and trust me this is going to be the concert of the century," read the post.
The concert is aimed at officially launching the singer's latest album Kyarenga, which became hugely popular during his arrest in August when he claims he was beaten and tortured by police.
