Singer Avril has revealed that she has rejected endorsement deals from several companies.
In an interview with Parents Magazine, Avril, who gave birth in April, said that a lot of companies have approached her intending to use her baby to push their products.
She disclosed that she turned them down because she's not yet ready to reveal the babies identity.
“I’ve been approached for endorsement deals and I’ve had to turn them all down. Mind you, it’s a lot of money. However, if I’m signing a contract, I’m signing as Avril not as Avril and M, unless the corporate is comfortable with my son’s identity remaining anonymous,” she said in the interview.
In the interview, the singer also revealed that she drove herself to hospital after labour pains kicked in.
"When I found out I was pregnant I had mixed feelings. It was something I had wanted for so long so I was happy. However, I also wondered, ‘what do I do next?’ By my second month, I was done with baby shopping and when my water broke, I drove myself to hospital,” she said.
Her path is totally opposite from what many celebrities have taken in the recent past.
Celebrities such as Size 8 and DJ Mo, Zari Hassan, King Kaka have all signed endorsement deals for their kids with different companies.
