It is that time of the year again and Time magazine on Thursday put out its list of the 25 most influential people on the internet and it is causing quite a stir.
The list includes celebrities, influencers, activists, a 6-year-old YouTube star, the high school studentbehind the Yanny/Laurel debate and President Donald Trump.
What comes as a surprise though is some of the A list celebs who were unranked.
Kylie Jenner who has 110 million Instagram followers wasn’t on the list. The Kardashian stepped away from social media while she was pregnant with daughter Stormi, but made her presence felt immediately upon her return when she shared her baby’s name via Instagram.
However, her brother-in-law, Kanye West, made it to the list.
Other names include Busy Philipps, who made it because of her hilarious and vulnerable Instagram Stories.
BTS, the K-pop sensation, is also one of the top mentions on the list. Alas, so are Logan and Jake Paul, the controversial YouTube stars who came under fire this year for making light of suicide in a video and using the n-word while rapping.
Another name that stands out on the list is Lil Miquela, an Instagram fashion influencer who’s actually a virtual avatar.
The list also includes Rihanna who blasted Snapchat for allowing a controversial ad on its platform that asked users if they would rather “Slap Rihanna” or “Punch Chris Brown.”
