Rapper Jimmy Wopo has died aged 21 after being shot dead in an apparent drive-by.

The talented US rapper was fatally gunned down in Pennsylvania City on Monday - the same day XXXTentacion was killed.

Local police said two victims had been hit as they sat inside their car late Monday afternoon.

They added that both men were rushed to hospital where the rapper later died. A motive for the shooting is unclear.

According to reports, the rising star had just signed his first major record deal after finding management with Grammy-nominated music producer Sledgren.

After learning of his death, the producer tweeted: “We just signed him I can’t stop crying."

Fellow rapper Pusha T wrote: "Damn R.I.P. JimmyWopo."

Juicy J, who had also paid tribute to XXXTentacion, said: "R.I.P. Jimmy Wopo. Damn man this s**t crazy.”

Earlier it had been reported that rapper XXXTentacion had died following a shooting near Miami.

Florida native XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was attacked in what police suspect was a robbery.

He was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach shortly before 4pm local time when he was approached by two men, with at least one of the suspects shooting him, local police said.

The Florida native was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
