The Indonesian village of Persiapan Lawela on the island of Muna is reeling in shock after the body of a missing woman was found inside the belly of a giant python.
According to Khaleej Times, the body of Wa Tiba, 54, was discovered after the villagers captured the python and cut it open.
The news outlet reported that Tiba mysteriously vanished on Thursday while tending to her vegetable garden at her home.
The local area police chief, Hamka, stated that a search party was immediately formed to trace her whereabouts on the island.
They, however, stumbled upon the bloated seven-metre python just 30 metres from where the missing woman’s sandals and machete were found.
"Residents were suspicious the snake swallowed the victim, so they killed it, then carried it out of the garden,
"The snake's belly was cut open and the body of the victim was found inside," said Hamka.
Hamka added that she was swallowed head first and that body was found intact.
