Jahmby Koikai appeals for Sh5 million for treatment

News
 Koikai is still in hospital

Sharing from her hospital bed, popular media personality Jamby Koikai is in need of your assistance and is seeking Sh5 million for treatment.

‘’I'm in need of your help to raise Kshs. 5 million (USD 50,000) to pay for the pending hospital bill and cost of therapy.’’ Her post read in part.

Recuperating at a hospital bed, the artist revealed that she had undergone dental surgery after the endometriosis spread to her mouth.

‘’Chilling in the recovery room after dental surgery. Endometriosis spread all the way to my mouth. These are things to look out for. Endometriosis and hormonal imbalance can also spread to your mouth. This can be experienced during your period. Heavy and excessive bleeding while brushing your teeth during your period is a sign of high levels of oestrogen and progesterone in the mouth. This also leads to gum disease.’’ The post read.

Jahmby revealed how she had to undergo the surgery while not being fully sedated feeling every bit of the procedure that saw her lose four of her teeth.

‘’I've had this problem for years. So they removed 4 teeth and cut out part of the gum which was inflammed. They couldn't knock me out completely as my heart is still being monitored so i felt every bit of what was going on. All i could think of was Isaiah 41:13. For i am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, do not FEAR FOR I AM WITH YOU. It's not been an easy journey for me mentally. I could see the sadness in my mom's eyes and my sister's voice but they've held me together. I now have an appointment with the cardiologist this week and I'm also starting on hydrotherapy to strengthen my lungs.’’ She posted.

Faya Mama, as she is also known as, has undergone a series of surgeries and complications since she was diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of 29.

Njambi left Kenya in February for treatment in Atlanta. She suffers from Thoracic Endometriosis-a condition which causes her lungs to collapse regularly.

According to Endometriosis News, Thoracic endometriosis is the presence of endometrial tissue in the thoracic region, may in rare instances lead to pneumothorax in the left lung of young women, according to a case study. This condition, characterized by the presence of air or gas in the pleural cavity, can cause the lung to break from the chest wall.
