The government has seized vehicles assigned to NASA leaders in what looks like an ongoing crackdown on opposition leaders over the controversial swearing –in of Raila Odinga.
Police officers forcefully took John Mbadi, National Assembly Minority Leader’s car as well as that of the National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed.
According to reports, the vehicles were impounded outside Parliament Buildings on Wednesday 7th evening when the legislators were stopped by police and removed from their cars before the officers drove away the vehicles.

According to Hon Mbadi, the Suna South MP, the vehicles belong to the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
Protesting over the move, Junet, Suna East MP, argued that the Executive arm of the government was behaving in a manner that suggests it has powers over the Legislature.
“The vehicles they took is property of Parliament, which is an independent body. I therefore don’t understand why one arm of the government should cede its powers to another," Junet questioned.

As the two NASA leaders lost their cars, their Embakasi East counterpart Babu Owino declared that he will be spending nights at Parliament Building for fear of arrest as police were allegedly waiting for him outside Parliament.
