Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been arrested. The first time legislator was arrested on January 19, 2018 by flying squad officers outside Parliament buildings.
He was arrested over claims of assault and malicious damage of property.
The former Student Leader’s arrest comes days after a video went viral of men believed to be part of his entourage were captured roughing up parking attendants at a joint in Westlands, Nairobi.
Babu Owino, however, later posted a conflicting report on his social media pages saying he was arrested over assault and harbouring intention to overthrow the government.
Last year, he was also arrested after he allegedly made abusive remarks on the Presidency and charged with subversion and an alternative charge of incitement to violence.
The embattled MP is being held at Parklands police station where police reports hint he will remain as investigations into the matter are carried out.
