National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is back in the country from his four day trip to the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar.

According to sources, the Opposition chief jetted into the country quietly on Wednesday evening, unlike the euphoria that greeted him at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday after his 10 day trip in the USA.

His arrival comes amidst a storm on social media yesterday after photos of him posing with a lady at a hotel in Zanzibar went viral.

The photos that first emerged on Facebook posted by Sasha Seraphine Mbote, a masseuse in the island, immediately drew sharp reactions as Kenyans commented on the issue.

Mbote’s caption that read "I celebrated Zimbabwe with Baba," perhaps a reference to the resignation of Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe, set tongues wagging with her post getting flooded with comments.

She incurred the wrath of some Kenyans who accused her of using the photos as a cheap publicity stunt  while other wondered what the fuss was all about and that Odinga takes selfies every time.

Weighing in on the matter, ODM communications Director Philip Etale had wrote on twitter that the stir over the photos was a non-issue.

Taking a photo with a great man is something many people yearn to. The excitement that drives one to the opportunity is enormous. That feeling... Yes the feeling. And @JunetMohamed too was among those who took a photo with the enigma in Zanzibar. Others have posted theirs...”

Odinga was in the island after jetting out of the country over the weekend soon after arriving from the United States where he had gone on a 10 day visit where he met policy makers and leaders.

Salim Lone, Odinga’s log time advisor, had told the New York Times that his boss was pushed out of the country due to unrest.
