A 10-year-old boy was found dead at a swimming pool in a high-end hotel on Sunday evening.
Arsad Salim’s body was found at the bottom of Sunset Hotel swimming pool by rescuers after his mother reported him missing.
The child was among several others that had gone swimming in the hotel's pool.
His father, Salim Ombima told The Standard that the boy had been in the company of his mother and two of his siblings who were also swimming at the pool.
“I had given them money and my car to go and swim before I received information that he was missing,” said Ombima.
The boy's parents have criticised the hotel's pool safety procedures for children. They said that the pool was crowded at the time of the incident.
However, the hotel has denied that the death was caused by negligence on its part, saying it was accidental.
