After news of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner passing was announced interest on what went on in his exclusive mansion soared.
Here are things you might not know about the playboy’s pad in Los Angeles.
1. Invite only
In order to get invited to a party at the Playboy Mansion, for a private party you need a personal invitation from Hugh himself, or any of his “girlfriends.”
2. Girfriends
Hugh’s girlfriends who lived at the mansion with him were paid Sh103,250 per week. They aren’t “allowed” to have other jobs, except paid Playboy appearances.
3. Curfew
Everyone who lives at the Playboy Mansion has a 9:00 PM curfew every night, especially the girls living there.
4. He didn’t own the house
The mansion is actually owned by Playboy Enterprises. Hugh reportedly paid Sh72 million to Sh144 million
rent.
5. It has a zoo
The Mansion is home to monkeys, dogs, cats, over 100 species of birds countless reptiles and amphibians
6. Pool
The house’ pool and grotto is the fantasy sexual escaped spot of the house. Saying how dirty the pool and grotto are could be an understatement.
7. Fireworks
It’s the only private home in Los Angeles with its own fireworks license. It can display it anytime.
8. The Mansion
Originally built in 1927, Playboy acquired it in 1971 for a little over Sh100 million from a chess player.
9 Elvis
The King reportedly “slept” there with eight Playboy bunnies and the room he slept in is off limits to the public.
