Investigative journalist, Mohamed Ali of Jicho Pevu took a jab at politics late last year when he announced that he will contest the Nyali parlimentary seat.
In his dream to get to parliament, he chose to use the popular political outfit, ODM, only for his dream to come crushing at the party nominations.
In the Nyali constituency ODM nominations, all did not go as planned for Mohamed Ali as he claimed he was rigged off. A lot of politics later surrounded the claims. The assertions included allegations that the Nyali ODM ticket was awarded to relative of ODM Deputy Party leader despite the said candidate losing to Mohamed Ali. Following this, Ali went ahead to challenge the awarding of the nomination certificate to his opponent Said Abdala Salim. Salim retained the certificate.
Moha went ahead and vied as an independent candidate and now he is poised to have the final laugh. He is currently leading his closest rival, Said Abdala with over 9,000 votes and 89% of the votes cast in the constituency have been counted.
Should he go ahead and clinch the seat, Kenyan’s will be expecting a lot from him considering that he has been a staunch activist for the wellbeing of Kenyans against the ills in the August House which he will now be a part.
