A businessman in Nairobi has come out claiming that the late GG Kariuki was his father.
Mr Charles Maina, 29, filed a case before a Nakuru court seeking to compel the family of the late Laikipia Senator to include him in the funeral programme and accord him recognition as a son to the late billionaire.
Speaking to journalist in Nakuru, Mr Maina said that he wants the court to warrant a DNA analysis to prove his paternity by ordering tissue samples extraction from the body of the Senator.
He mentioned that he had no plans to disrupt the burial of the statesman and that his attempts to reach the family had been futile thus leaving him with no option but to go to the courts.
In his court suit, he is also asking the court to declare that he is entitled to bear the name of the late legislator.
“I had first attempted to reach out to the family but they were hostile and that is why l moved to court, they never even included me as a family member in the memorial service of my father.” He said.
The hearing for the case is scheduled for Friday morning. The court will also determine whether tissue samples will be taken from the body of GG Kariuki before his burial at his Rumuruti farm.
