Veteran Kenyan politician Nicholas Biwott is dead.
A close source verified that Biwott passed away at Nairobi hospital after a long ilness.
The body of the late ex-minister has been moved to Lee Funeral Home
He was once a powerful cabinet minister and a close confidant of former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.
Biwott also worked alongside presidents Jomo Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki.
Following his father’s influence who established a profitable fruit and vegetable business in Eldoret, Nicholas Biwott went on to become one of Kenya’s most successful businessmen.
His death comes barely a week after the shocking passing of Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery.
Reports indicate that Biwott collapsed and died a few minutes before midday while getting into his car.
While mourning Biwott’s passing, former President Moi said he has known Biwott since 1950s both being leaders from Rift Valley. Moi described Biwott as dependable friend whose service had an impact on the nation.
