How bright students are treated differently from others

News

The first days in high school when one first joins the first form, at first it’s hard making friends but with time you start getting used to it. However, there is always this student who likes sitting alone at the front row and is always busy writing something, at times you wonder what it is he is writing and yet the first week of school no learning is in progress. They also read everything even the things they do not understand or are not at their level yet running to and fro asking the teacher for answers.

"Hi what's your name?" you ask.

All he does is give you a direct and short answer.

And yet all you were trying to do is start a conversation that has now been cut short. That is when panic and fears enters the classroom it is very evident to one and all that this is a grade A student.

They normally hung out in group of two or three of their intelligent kind. Even the teacher already knows their full names and yet he is still struggling with yours yet you participate more than them in class. They are promoted to a new rank, Teacher's pet.

Not to make matters worse by adding salt to the wound of other students. The genius ones get a lot of prizes as best in class, cleanest student and the creme de la creme of the class. At home these type of students are no different bragging to their other less intelligent siblings by asking daddy all the hard questions and later throwing it back to their siblings in order to make them look bad.

As the less clever students scratch their heads they are chased to their rooms to go and revise for the next exam that is 5-weeks away.

Grade A students always stand out in the family just because the parents, aunts and uncles are sure that they will make the family name popular and not bring shame to the family. Their academic targets are always set higher than that of the rest to them the pass mark they set is either a 90 or 100% anything less than that is a failure.

It is with no doubt that nothing can stand in their way.

Amazing, isn't it?
