Musicians and actors have a real weekend treat thanks to Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRiSK), which has started the process of distributing Sh28 million worth of royalties to their members. The monies are for royalties collected in 2015.
The Collective Management Organization (CMO), which recently held its annual general meeting is the only society offering medical cover to its members and also recently became the first society to procure services of global audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as from 2016.
PRiSK CEO Angela Ndambuki, who recently returned from her studies in the University of Edinburgh where she is studying for a Masters in Law, says the reason the society exists in the first place is to represent musicians and actors and ensure fair remuneration for their works.
