Funny man Njugush announces exit from 'The Real Househelps of Kawangware' amid massive show changes

News

Timothy Kimani aka Njugush will no longer appear on local hit show Real Househelps of Kawangware.

The comedian who has played the role of Njugush since the show’s inception announced the departure on his Facebook page.

He cites changes in scripting and directing as the reason for his departure.

"Change is not bad, but without gelled and oiled transition I feel it would put characters, plot, and the whole show in jeopardy," the comedian continued.

"However I am really humbled for all the support you've given me as a character through and through. I have grown in measures unforseen, And for that I will forever be greatful for your undying love. Also Protel studios asante for the platform you gave me. Above all God for weaving this basket to completion," he concludes.

He however assures the fans that the rest of the gang will remain and that he will be back in a different outfit.

But it is not only Njugush who has left the show, Philip Karanja (the director) and Abel Mutua (the writer) have also announced their exit.

"After 104 episodes, we feel we have done our share and it will only be fair if we handed over the baton to another team to inject a new feel to the show," Phillip said.

The director also announced that he had started his own production company called Phil-It. It is not clear whether Abel and Njugush will be joining him.

We can only hope that this does not mean the end for one of Kenya’s most successful local productions.
