Pastor Gilbert Deya, popularly known as 'Archbishop of Peckham' by his followers in London hit the headlines this morning after allegedly selling Aldi olive oil to his congregation claiming it can cure Cancer and HIV.

The pastor who in Kenya is known for his ‘Miracle babies’ has faced a ten-year battle against deportation to his native Kenya. He was arrested in 2006 after being accused of stealing five children from the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi.

The Evangelical preacher at Gilbert Deya Ministries have been selling the Sh220 750ml product from Aldi in their church shop in South London for Sh550 as a cure if consumed in food.

The scam to heal Cancer and HIV patients using Aldi olive oil was revealed when an undercover couple  went to him to be healed only for one of his acquaintances to smear some of the oil to the woman on the chest after which he promised her to brace herself for blessings from that moment.

He also assured them that the Cancer will disappear and every form of witchcraft will vanish in no time if they used the oil in their meals.

Gilbert Deya ministries might soon find itself in hot soup yet again as the Charities Commission is already investigating them.

Pastor Deya who was an evangelist in Kenya in the late 1980s to early 1990s  moved to the UK where he  established Gilbert Deya Ministries in 1997. He has other churches in Liverpool, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Luton, Reading and Manchester, Sheffield. In 2006 he acquired a building and planning permission in Leeds.
