On January the 4th this year, Kenyans were left in shock after Fidel Odinga was found dead at his Karen home after a night out.
Fidel was the son to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Ida Odinga. He was married to an Eritrean woman Getachew Bekele, with whom they had one child. Fidel was also the eldest son in a family of four children Rosemary, Raila Junior and Winnie.
Autopsy results to determine his cause of death were not made public.
Ida took to her social media account to celebrate Fidel's 42nd birthday with a heartfelt letter;
Fidel Castro Odhiambo Odinga. Obange wuod nyar Gem, 42 years ago was the happiest day of my life. God had just blessed us with a bouncing baby boy.
Today is the first time we celebrate your birthday without you being physically present, but you are ably represented by your son Allay who is a mirror image of you and your wife Lwam.
