With many acting professionals from across the counties showing up for the BET -Top Actor Africa auditions in Nairobi’s Kenya National theatre, it has emerged that actress Brenda Wairimu had beaten hundreds of contenders to succeed in the first round of auditions.
Top Actor Africa is a reality show that will see 12 lucky finalists from across Africa compete in weekly challenges for the ultimate prize of US$10,000 and a contract with international agencies.
It is therefore was no mean feat to qualify among the few that would fly to South Africa for the final round of auditions at Johannesburg Urban brew studios.
On receiving the news, an elated Brenda shared it on her social media pages asking fans to wish her all the best in her quest.
“Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!” she said.
All was well, until the studios asked that auditions be attended physically, rather than online as had been earlier communicated.
Such a demand would have required her to get a visa and ticket within a day, an impossible feat for the new mother.
For this reason, Brenda shared news of her forfeiting the position, but still thanked her fans for the support.
“Sadly guys, due to miscommunication, the auditions for @BET_Africa #TopActor that were to be online now have to be physically attended in Joburg tomorrow, it's next to impossible for me to make the trip on one day notice. I will therefore have to forfeit my spot in the 2nd round of auditions. Thank you guys still for all the support,” she posted.
