The returning champions have this morning been treated to a heroes welcome at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Led by Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s entourage and activist Boniface Mwangi with his 100 strong bikers, the Kenyan sportsmen have been given a presidential like escort.
The senator posted photos of the Sonko Rescue Team fleet comprising of Audi Q7 limos, Hummers and several gold-plated Mercedes Benz cars at the KICC before they left for the airport.
Sonko has also promised to give a national feast for the returning champions.
"I am preparing a national feast where I will slaughter 10 bulls,50 goats,300 fish and 500 ingokho and ducks in celebration of our athletes," he tweeted.
