One of Kenya's leading female comedian passes on

It is a sad start to the week as we announce the passing of one of Kenya’s finest lady comedians. Purity Mwirigi who played Kanana Kawaria in Hapa Kule News, a satirical show, died on Sunday afternoon after a short illness.

In Hapa Kule, when she was not pelting her Muratina Project Fame judges with all sorts of missiles, she was beating the life out of her watchman husband for cheating on her with the househelp on the show.

She set herself apart from many by her talented loud comic performances.

Her Hapa Kule workmates have joined in eulogizing her on social media.

Njugush of Hapa Kule: Family we’ve lost one of us. She probably was your best actress in hapa kule news. Kagwiria is no more. It took me time to accept that the best wife njuguna could ever have is no more. But who are we to question Gods doing? May her soul rest in peace.

Kenyans are also reeling from the shock of her sudden passing and many have poured tributes on social media.
