My buddy refused to handle my case — Gor

Heads Up

Gor Semelango

After being barred from running in the Mathare by-election, businessman and a friend of the showbiz circles, Evans Gor Semelango, has revealed that his friend had initially been handed his case.

The buddy in question is High Court Judge Justice Isaac Lenaola.

“Lenaola and I have been friends for a very long time. We are both members of the Karen Country Club. We occasionally share a drink together, which therefore made it hard for him to preside over my case,” Gor told Heads Up.

A few months ago, the respected judge featured on Heads Up after attending Kinyanjui Kombani’s ‘Den of Inequities’ book launch where he revealed his fun side.

The judge threw jabs at Starehe Boys alumni and writer Tony Mochama (Smitta), calling him a bushman because of his dreadlocks.

Gor was barred from vying in the election after Mathare Constituency returning officer, Joseph Masindet, declined to clear him after he (Gor) failed to turn up for summons to prove that he had quit public office six months in advance of expressing interest in the parliamentary seat.
