Posta Rangers lost their first FKF Premier League match of the 2023-2024 season on Saturday after going down 3-1 to FC Talanta at Ruaraka Grounds.

Alfred Emoni capitalised on Rangers goalkeeper Samuel Njau's mistake to slot home the opener for Talanta in the fifth minute before Alex Juma made it 2-0 from the spot after he was brought down by Kennedy Odhiambo.

Dinken Mwema provided some calm for John Kamau on the touchline after the torrid start when he rose high to head home Titus Achesa's free kick in the 42nd minute, a goal that many thought would guide the mailmen back into the game as they trailed 2-1 at the break.

In the final half, the mailmen attempted numerous times to level the match but it was their own defender Odhiambo who's deflected clearance rebounded into his own goal to give Talanta a 3-1 lead.

The win saw Talanta not only end Rangers unbeaten run but also register their first ever win against the league leaders.

In Machakos, bottom-placed Sofapaka stopped Zdravko Logarusic's impressive start at Kenya Police when they defeated the law enforcers 1-0 at Kenyatta Stadium to claim their maiden victory of the campaign.

New signing Khalid Jumaan scored the only goal of the game in the 35th minute to the relief of Sofapaka coach Ezekiel Akwana. But despite the win, Batoto Ba Mungu remain bottom with four points.

At Kasarani, a Stephen Ochieng's own goal in the 90th minute gifted KCB a crucial point as they forced a 1-1 draw against Ulinzi Stars.

Mark Bikokwa thought he had secured maximum points for the soldiers when he scored in the 84th minute only for the bankers to force an own goal late on.
