Embakasi mwalimu, 40, denies doing ‘tabia mbaya’ with 13-year-old pupil

A 40-year-old teacher has been arraigned in court for allegedly kissing and defiling a 13-year-old pupil.

Hezbon Ooko Obuya was accused of intentionally and unlawfully touching the breasts and private parts of the minor and kissing her at a private school within Embakasi area on August 11.

He was also accused of defiling the minor as she tried to complete her homework away from home.

According to the prosecution, Obuya, who was within the school premises, beckoned the minor to the staff room where he allegedly touching the minor suggestively and caressed her.

The minor told police that she declined and even moved away but the suspect started touching her breasts and butt before kissing her.

It is alleged that in the process, Obuyo pulled down the minor’s sportswear and defiled her. After committing the act, the court heard, the suspect asked the minor to dress up and leave.

She would later report the matter to the police. She was then referred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for check-up as a hunt was started for the suspect.

Obuya however denied the charges. He asked the court through his lawyer that he be released on friendly terms as he is asthmatic and not a flight risk.

He was released on surety bond of Sh300,000. His trial begins on March 27, 2017.
