Kisauni businessman Ali Mbogo has blamed politicians for his recent attack by irate youth.
According Mbogo, his political rivals were out to kill him ahead of the 2017 elections.
Mbogo was attending a burial when he was accosted by a gang of 50 youth at the Soko Mjinga area in Kisauni. One of the youth attacked him with a dagger.
He reported the matter at Nyali Police Station (OB/63/30/4/2016).
Speaking to The Nairobian, the Nyali Officer Commanding Police Station Richard Ngatia said he would make a follow up on the matter.
“I’m currently in a workshop, but I promise to follow up on the matter,” said Ngatia.
Mbogo, popularly known as ‘Buffalo’ claimed that some politicians were not unhappy with his efforts to improve the livelihoods of the youth in Kisauni. He however vowed to continue undeterred.
“There is no doubt the youth were sent to silence me forever. The aim is to intimidate me so that I develop cold feet and stop helping the needy. Some people view my initiative to fund women and youth groups as a threat to their political careers. But let these people know that helping is part of my DNA and I will not be cowed,” said the ‘Buffalo’ in Mombasa.
Mbogo has declared interest for the Kisauni parliamentary seat. His brother who was cut in the arm was later taken to hospital. He asked gangs such as Wakali Wao and Wakali Kwanza to quit their criminal ways.
